Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

A team of four like-minded runners will be running the London Landmarks Half Marathon on Sunday 2nd of April 2023. For some of the team this will be their first Half Marathon which alongside fundraising for a worthy cause will also be a huge personal achievement.

Home-Start Telford & Wrekin believe every parent should have the support they need to give their child/ren the best possible start in life. Home-Start Telford & Wrekin provides a non-judgmental, early intervention support on a 1:1 basis to families who are vulnerable and are struggling. Trained Volunteer Family Mentors visit families in their own homes to offer emotional and practical support so that families can deal with the challenges they face, before it reaches crisis point - and offer their children the best start in life.

Home-Start Telford & Wrekin also delivers 4 family groups throughout the Borough of Telford & Wrekin, offering weekly support to parents who are often isolated and lonely and whose children perhaps have few opportunities for interaction with other children. They offer parents an informal and non-judgemental environment to meet other parents and get advice and support. The groups also provide a safe and secure environment for children to play, learn and develop.

We are running the London Landmarks Half Marathon to raise vital funds, and with your support Home-Start Telford & Wrekin can continue to support vulnerable families who are struggling.
