Story
This October, I'm taking part in the 100 miles in October challenge in aid of the National Autistic Society. The National Autistic Society are there to help the 700,000 autistic people in the UK and their families - be it running specialist schools, campaigning for improved rights or training companies on being more autism-friendly, they are dedicated to transforming lives and changing attitudes.
My son, Kaian, is 7 years old. He’s autistic with limited speech, and he is the reason I’m doing this.
Kaian is a truly loving and affectionate boy. He has the kindest heart, adores his family, and is especially caring towards his little brother. His smile lights up any room, and everyone who knows him can’t help but fall in love with him.
He shows us in his own unique ways that he wants to connect with others and be part of the world around him – but the barriers in communication often make that incredibly hard. Despite the challenges he faces every day, he keeps going with such strength and determination. He is, without a doubt, my biggest inspiration.
This challenge is for him – and for every autistic child and family trying to navigate a world that doesn’t always understand them.
By supporting the National Autistic Society, your donation will help fund life-changing support, increase understanding, and push for real change so that autistic people can be better supported and truly included.
Every mile I walk this October is for Kaian. And every penny you give helps build a better, more accepting world for him and so many others.
Your donations towards my efforts are greatly appreciated and not only that, but they will also be a huge help in creating a society that works for all autistic people and their families, thank you! 💜
