At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

On 3rd November I will be running the Cheshire Half Marathon in memory of my Dad, Joe, who passed away in March 2010.

Dad was a gentle man with a great sense of humour. He worked hard and could turn his hand to anything. He loved nature and his encyclopoedic knowledge would always amaze me. Most of all Dad loved being with friends and family.

Dad was diagnosed with Dementia when he was 57 and slowly deteriorated over the next 10 years. The Alzheimers Society fund research into a cure for this awful condition. They also provided us with advice and information on how to deal with the various stages.

So I'm running for Dad and to raise money for the Alzheimer's Society.

Thank you for supporting me.

Sharon
