Right now, across Britain hundreds of thousands of people are still experiencing the worst forms of homelessness, either sleeping on our streets, sofa-surfing far away from their family and friends or spending months or even years stuck in unsuitable accommodation like B&Bs. Coming out of the pandemic we have an opportunity to build back better for people facing homelessness. I have chosen to join the race to end homelessness and fundraise to help make sure everyone has somewhere safe and secure to call home.

I will increase my daily walk to ensure I walk a marathon (26.22 miles) during the week 6 to 12 September 2021.  It will likely be two walks a day, especially on weekdays due to work, and I will endeavour to post the progress daily so you can see my progress.  I may even post photos so you can see where I have been.

Here are examples of what the funds raised could achieve:

🏠  £50 could help someone moving into accommodation to get a vital starter pack for their new home (it won’t furnish it in the entirety!)
👔  £100 could help someone get the equipment and clothing they need for starting work
👷 £200 could help fund a grant for vocational training (e.g. forklift truck driving) so someone can secure a job
🗣 £400 could contribute towards providing a programme of specialist psychological help someone who’s experienced trauma needs to start rebuilding their lives
