Story

I decided my new year resolution for 2012 was going to be sport related (as the Olympics were coming!) and something that would give me a sense of acheivement.

I chose running because it is something I have never been any good at. This might seem strange? but I felt I needed to push myself, and what better way to do that than running for 2 hours plus!!!

I manage to talk my good friend Richard Procter into taking part in the race with me and we started training in Feb 2012. I could describe to you how the first session went but I can give you better and more accurate example if you have ever seen the movie "Run Fat Boy Run"?

You know the bit where Simon Pegg puts on his speedo's and manages about 200 yards don the street before running out of breath and then checks his watch and says "Not bad", that was us :-)

We have improved slightly since that day and we are hoping to finish our first half marathon within 2h 30 mins, which to be honest we would be over the moon with for our first effort.

As a bonus I will get to raise funds for a fantastic charity, which a lot of my friends and family will benefit from plus I have now found new sport to enjoy and it has given me a new challenge, which I can now strive to conquer over the next few years!

I think I am putting in some effort to make a difference, so can I please ask for you to do same. Please give as much as you can, every penny does count plus the more your pledge, the more incentive it gives me to do well on the day. (if it helps to boost funds I will provide photos of me in pain during the 13 miles? I am sure some of my mates will wnt to see them!)

Thank you and see you at the finish line - hopefully :-)
