Story

This run will take place 12 months to the date of a life changing moment.

12 months to date I witnessed something that can only be described as a parents worst nightmare.
My son H was hit by a car on a 50mph road, when I arrived at the scene I can't tell you the amount of emotions that ran through my mind, body and soul.

H was rushed to BCH via West Midlands Air Ambulance to the best childrens hospital in the UK! (personal opinion)
As a mass of specialists surrounded H in the A&E trauma unit, I didn't know what our future would look like.

After weeks and weeks of the unknown, rehab and intense programmes and processes. H returned home for a day at Easter and that glimmer of hope, gave us the strength we needed to make sure H came home as soon as possible.

After further weeks back in hospital, H became stronger and stronger until one day we were given the green light for community care and H was discharged.

We still have a lot to work on and with but H is home, safe and we couldn't be more thankful to BCH.
We are currently 6 months post accident and although H has a few quirks.. he is here. He is alive and what seemed like the impossible is now possible, all thanks to BCH.

Specifically we want to reach out to Ward 10 - Neurology and thank them for all their endless hard work and support throughout H's time on the ward. They work tirelessly and were always there for us, whatever we needed and without them, I dont think we could have coped as well as we did. So for that we are thankful!

So with that in mind, I (Shaun) will be taking part in an endurance race and raising as much money as physically, mentally and emotionally possible.

Please give as much as you can to help me make a difference to BCH, so that I can ensure that they have the resources and expertise they need to make the difference to other childrens and parents lives.
