The Great Cumbrian Run · 7 October 2012

We help the babies, children and young people treated at Scotland's largest children's hospital, the Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow. We fund medical equipment, research, play programmes and family support services to ensure that our young patients receive the best possible care and experience.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Ruby Kenney was born on the 27th February 2009 at the Cumberland infirmary in Carlisle, Cumbria. Ruby was born with the condition trachea oesophageal fistula and OA, and was transferred to Yorkhill within nine hours of being born. Ruby spent 6 months in Yorkhill, and during this time suffered a number of setbacks including a collapsed lung which delayed her recovery somewhat, however on the 23rd August 2009 we were allowed to bring her home.

Since rubys discharge she has had to spent more time in Intentsive care, which she nearly lost her fight to live when she developed and absess on her lung causing her body to go into septic shock, luckily she pulled threw and has since had 27 surgical precedures and still attends to this day for vital treatment. If it wasnt for the fantastic care from the doctors and nurses in Yorkhill Ruby would not be with us today.

To say thank you to this amazing hospital Rubys dad is running the Cumbrian run to raise money to help buy equipment to save more childrens lives from England and Scotland. Anything you could give would be greatly appreciated not only by the hospital but also from ruby's family.
