Story

The Steve Prescott Foundation are taking a team to Everest Basecamp and the summit of Kala Pattar once again to raise as much funds and awareness as possible and to continue the legacy of a great man. Steve’s wife and youngest son will be part of the team heading up the mountain.

My name is Shaun magennis and I have been asked to complete the walk to Everest base camp with the Steve Prescott Foundation. A charity that has helped many different individuals from around the U.K and especially St. Helens, The Steve Prescott foundation helped myself when I retired from professional rugby due to injury so I feel it would be nice to give something back to the charity.

I had this trek booked to complete myself in march but had to undergo two hip replacements, so was unable complete it.

There is a group of 13 individuals taking part in the trek all looking at raising £5000 each.

The event will be very challenging both to raise the money and to complete the trek, but one I feel very confident in doing.

I have set up a go fund me page and will be completing different challenges throughout the year to help raise the money. Any donations or sponsors  would be extremely appreciated Thankyou.

About the charity

The Steve Prescott Foundation was set up by a totally inspirational man Steve Prescott MBE. In 2006 he was diagnosed with Pseudomyxoma Peritonei a terminal cancer & sought out to raise funds for The Christie Hospital and the Rugby League Benevolent Fund. The SPF changes the lives of so many people.
