Shaving beard · 5 July 2020

Solihull Hospital Charity has launched an ambitious fundraising appeal to completely renovate the children's areas at the hospital, transforming the spaces where the 17,000 children who visit the hospital each year are treated.

Story

As most of you know my husband and I lost our baby through a miscarriage at 17 weeks. It's been the most heartbreaking and tramic experience we have been through.
We have both decided to try and raise some money to turn this awful time into a positive message for others. Anyone who knows my husband Lee, knows he has had a beard since about the age of 12, and has never been without one, even I havnt seen him without a beard. He is going to shave his beard completely off in support of families going through what is probably the worst time of there lives. We were both overwhelmed by the support The Eden Project at Heartland Hospital gave to us and we learned how much they do to help families to process and start healing after the loss of a baby. We want to help them support other families with the same level of compassion and care we recieved. They make the hardest possible time for parents more bearable and the short time families get with there babies is precious. Not only do they support the families emotionally they provide privacy, individual ensuite rooms, garden for parents to reflect and they get added extras through donations complementing the amazing quality of care given by the staff on the suite.
We ask that you please donate anything that you can spare to help this amazing charity continue with their invaluable services
