Story
Throughout March, I’ll be taking on Mind’s 100 Miles in March challenge. To mark the journey, I’ll be aiming for 119 miles, the equivalent distance between my hometown of Rotherham and the town where I now live, Leighton Buzzard.
I’ll be running a bit, jogging more, and probably walking most of it!
I’m taking part in this challenge in memory of someone hugely influential, loved and missed by many, my uncle Andrew “Andy” Chapman. A generous family man who inspired so many people, this feels like a fitting (and slightly exhausting) way to continue his legacy.
Right now, Mind’s phone lines are the busiest they’ve ever been. In the UK, 1 in 4 of us will experience a mental health problem each year, yet too many people still suffer in silence. Mind is often their only lifeline - providing support on the phone, in local communities, and campaigning for change so that no one is left behind.
If you’re able to, please consider supporting my 119 Miles in March by donating a few quid. Your contribution will help Mind continue delivering vital services and make sure information and support are there for everyone - through their website, helplines and online community.
Thank you so much for your support,
Shawn
