Me and my brother, Chris, are planning to do the Way of The Roses Coast to Coast Bike Ride starting this Friday 8th July. It’s 170 miles long starting in Morecambe and finishing in Bridlington and will cross the Pennines so plenty of hills. We hope to do between 50 to 60 miles per day finishing on Monday 11th July. It’s probably not the best idea I ever had as both my knees could do with being replaced and only just today (the 5th) proved negative for Covid. I am doing it to raise some funds for the charity I work for which is Trafford Carers Centre. I work for our Young Carers Service and we support Young Carers from the age of 5 up to 25 who care for someone (usually in their family) who needs help because of their illness, frailty, disability, mental health problem or an addiction. They are truly a fantastic group of young people. All money raised will go towards providing fun activities to give our young carers a well-earned break from their caring role.
