Story
I will challenging myself along with a group of middle aged
men who are living their mid life crisis by running, jogging, walking, crawling (or being carried) up and down 2x 400m hills deep across 15kms of darkness within Innerleithen with nothing else other than my headlamp to guide me through the course. As well as navigating through small streams and natures other obstacles we will be going through this suffering to fundraise for Boots and Beards.
Boots and Beards work with our communities to improve their health and wellbeing. By working together, we believe in changing lives for the better for present and future generations.
Donations made will go specifically towards 2 causes (50%/50%)
Firstly towards Earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria. donations will be transferred via Islamic Relief
Secondly creating a 'safe space' for our community to use and benefit from as well as to purchase key office equipment and furniture. We believe a Healthy Community is a Positive Community and so therefore Boots and Beards have secured a bigger office location in the southside of Glasgow where we aim to expand our services. We want to open up our space to the community to enable them to get involved in health and wellbeing initiatives.
* Are you over the age of 25? * Feelings of anxiety? * Experiencing low
mood? * Are you feeling stressed? * Trouble with sleeping? * Issues with self
esteem? * Do you want to make new friends? * Do you want to lose weight?
These are some of the issues which our community has been
facing. Boots & Beards, in partnership with local organisations, want to
further understand the diverse needs of our community in this everchanging
world, where mental health is often neglected or not seen as a priority.
