Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

So a bit about the event -its a 2,000 mile drive round Britain in 48 hrs in a Triumph car...we do it every two years its been running since 1966

Its a completely bonkers thing to do in this day and age and I cant really explain why I have been taking part since 1996 ..there is no other event quite like it

There is some great history and war stories here on the Club Triumph web site https://club.triumph.org.uk/menu/18743/view

Have a read ..its good ...I wrote it!

Like I said my first event was 1996 in a Dolomite sprint held together with metal cut from old washing machines, since then I have done the event in 2000s (MK1 and Mk2 ),Gt6s and Spitfire (you haven't lived until you spend 48hrs driving a spitfire  2,000 miles!) most of them rescued from sheds and prepared for the event in a shed up against limited resource and time.

The last "shedstoration" was the return of the shedi in 2016...shedi will be striking back in 2018 ..

Over the years and various events you make  great friendships, the event has a brilliant camaraderie one of my great friendships was with Martin "Raider" Randle a TR7 addict who loved his cars and driving them all over the place and into wild boars

Martin also had Epilepsy he passed away over a year ago now due to his epilepsy - Epilepsy research UK are a small charity that need our help, with more resource vital research can be carried out to help over 600,000 people in the UK who have a diagnosis -32,000 diagnosed every year - around 1,000 people a year die as a result of epilepsy

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
