Story
The Madley family are so touched to hear that SMRUFC have chosen to raise money for Sarcoma UK this year.
A year ago we lost my brother, James Madley, to a rare type of sarcoma. What started as a small lump in his abdomen tuned into an aggressive 18cm mass just 6 weeks later.
James was a brilliant sportsman, a loving husband and the best brother in the world. He was a Sheffield Uni grad and although he never fancied playing for the medics himself, he could often be spotted down at Norton. Initially supporting me and then later turning to whichever match he found more interesting (usually the 3s). He even met up with the club on our tour to Budapest in 2017 which was eyeopening to him to say the least.
Sadly, James never had a chance against his condition, but we hope that by helping Sarcoma UK to continue research into this poorly understood disease we might be able to help someone else's sibling, child or partner in the future. If what we raise helps just one person then that is enough.
We can't thank SMRUFC enough for what they're doing to help. We wish them all the best for their fundraising and for the season.
