My name is Sheila and I’m walking the Kiltwalk to raise funds for the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.

My first encounter with MND was in the early 2000’s when my husband Andy’s cousin Ann was diagnosed with MND and subsequently fought a courageous battle with this debilitating disease. Little did we know a few years later after a series of falls and some slurring of his speech Andy was also to receive the diagnosis of Bulbar MND. He too fought the disease with courage, optimism and humour.

I am so grateful to the late Doddie Weir for all his efforts in raising the profile of MND and establishing the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation to continue to fund research into finding a cure for this devastating disease whilst fighting his own battle with MND.
