Shepherd House is a 15 bedded mental health recovery unit in Worthing.

After having such great success with our last Virtual Walk back in May with thanks to our OT Natalie for putting in the hard work to organise it, and the generous donations coming from  far and wide, we wanted to take on another challenge and with South Downs being on our door step this inspired us to take on the South Down's Way! 

Our mission is to complete the great distance as a team, both service users and staff contributing to the target of 161km. We will add to the tally through going on local walks and runs as well as utilising our treadmill to keep on going through the rainy days. 

The aim is to finish the walk before the clocks go forward, in time for spring, and by then hopefully we will be able to complete the challenge by walking a section of the South Downs Way as group.

Heads On is Sussex Partnerships charity that raises funds so that we can improve the lives of those living with mental health issues, especially from the impact over the last year.

We are hopping to Raise £100, this amount will help contribute towards games and activities, as well as helping with the patients wellbeing. We will also encourage suggestions from the service users how the money is best used. Any donation is most welcomed and greatly appreciated and will help contribute to a great cause.

The past 12 months have been a challenge for us all and it has been hard to stay motivated throughout, we hope this type of challenge can inspire others to stay active and create there own challenges for themselves. Though we cannot see what awaits in the future, it is up to us to take the right steps which lead us there.
