Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
Miss Joshi goes trekking – yes you heard correctly!! Hiking boots, a shapeless jacket, raingear with a hood and NO HAIR STRAIGHTENERS for two weeks!! Not usually something you would be able to say with my name in the same sentence and something that I am sure will provide many of you with amusement.
However, on a serious note, this is all for a very deserving cause and my hope to follow in my grandfather’s philanthropic footsteps for which he has been nominated for an OBE.
As a lot of you will know, the people of Bihar in Northern India are suffering due to recent floods. The official estimates state that over 5 million people have been affected and a further 1.2 million displaced. The villagers and authorities are not equipped to deal with such an unanticipated disaster and they urgently need help.
To do my little bit, I have decided to dedicate my Himalaya trek to raising money for this cause, being helped by the Asian Foundation for Help, which my grandfather founded in 1983.
I, along with 8 other ladies, including my Mum will be trekking in the Himalayas from 13th to 27th September and travelling well over 1000 km.
I hope you will help me reach my target of £2000 for this very worthy cause.
Many thanks for your support.
