EMF Half Marathon 2026 · 24 May 2026 ·

The ocean feeds us, regulates our climate, generates most of the oxygen we breathe and it’s home to more than 80% of life on Earth. Help us protect it! 10% for the Ocean is a non-profit organisation serving as a key gateway for ocean conservation efforts. Empowering a global alliance of local organisations, we fund and advocate for initiatives that drive positive and equitable change, ensuring the protection, recovery, and support of our planet's most precious resource: the Ocean. 10% For The Ocean supports the Ocean Recovery Network, a group of charities committed to saving and protecting our Ocean and the lives that depend on it. In line with the principles of localization and participation, we make a conscious effort to select grantees who are committed to sustainable practices, community engagement, innovation, and measurable impact. We envision a future where the oceans thrive with biodiversity, sustainably managed resources, and resilient ecosystems, supported by a global community.

Story

Welcome to my JustGiving fundraising page! I am running the 2026 Edinburgh Half Marathon for 10% For the Ocean in order to raise as much money as possible.

Any amount you donate goes directly toward scientific research, ocean recovery, and legal advocacy. They are a fantastic Charity and I would be so grateful if you could take the time to sponsor me to help the cause and to motivate me in my training!

The ocean is our planet’s life-support system producing over half our oxygen and absorbs 90% of excess heat from global warming. Yet it is the least funded of all the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. This initiative directly supports over 70 organisations across 27 countries, funding projects focused on infrastructure, scientific research, and legal advocacy for marine environments.
