50% of the population in Guatemala live in poverty and education is the key to improving their lives.

Currently, 1.5 million children under the age of six in Guatemala have no pre-primary education, which makes entering the formal school system and staying in school very challenging. Only 1% of children receive any pre-school educational in the vital years between 0-4 years old.

In 2012-13 BGL will support Plan UK in its work to build two pre-school centres.

BGL raised in excess of £45,000 in the last Dragon Boat Tournament in 2011 - we hope to help smash that this year!
