I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2016 and had a mastectomy, chemotherapy and radiotherapy.  I couldn’t have an immediate reconstruction and was referred to St.Helens & Whiston hospital, burns and plastics breast reconstruction team.   I had a difficult and long wait, because of the number of people needing the surgery immediately.  I finally had my reconstruction in September 2018 and then a further operation 2 weeks ago.  The support of the team and the skills of the surgeons is fantastic and they have helped me to get to where I am today.  It has been a long journey through the illness, but without this team and others I wouldn’t be now back to full health and fighting fit!  The team also provide specially fitting bras for people during and after the surgery, for which they need to pay for.  

I will be supported by very good friends, Teresa Shaw and her granddaughter Maddie Shaw and Rebecca Sherman, who will be doing the challenge with me.

I would be grateful of any support you can give which will go towards equipment and support of the reconstruction team at St.Helens and Knowsley Hospital.  Thank you
