Story
The Salvation Army is a Christian Church & registered Charity working in 130 countries worldwide and is one of the largest and most diverse providers of social welfare in the world. In the UK and Republic of Ireland this work includes more than 800 Salvation Army social service centres and community churches. We provide unconditional friendship, support and very practical help to people in crisis and need and work with children, homeless people, all adult victims of modern slavery and those dealing with drug and/or alcohol addiction.
The Salvation Army each Christmas works hard to ensure that no child goes without a present. 2020 has been a difficult year for lots of people and more and more people are finding themselves out of work, or with less income than normal. This will have an affect on what they can afford this Christmas.
We have already started to receive referrals of families who are in need of the support of a Christmas Hamper containing food and gifts and we know that there are more referrals to come as we get closer to the Christmas period. Help us to ensure that no families or individuals go without this Christmas.
The restrictions of the current pandemic means that we cannot as a charity collect in are normal ways so we need your help now to ensure that we can support as many people as possible over the festive period.
