Having been asked by several friends if I was doing my trek for charity I have decided to give you the opportunity to make a donation to Help For Heroes, given that I hope to be at base camp Everest on, or around, the 11th November, Armistice Day.  

Due to a day's delay getting to Lukla, I was crossing the Kongma La pass on the 11th.  I 'planted' my poppy in the snow there, looking down towards the Khumbu Glacier and the town of Lobuche.  It was an incredibly emotional moment for me, being one of only 7 in the group to manage this high pass at 5535m. It is a memory I'll never forget.
