Cherubim Trust - Shona Cameron · 21 August 2014

The Cherubim Music Trust was established in 2001. It was founded in response to the increasing difficulties faced by many of Britain¹s young musicians. By supporting young talent, Cherubim is helping a new generation of world-class musicians. Brought into existence by an initial donation from the Gosling Foundation, the Trust has gone from strength to strength, bridging a keenly-felt gap in the music world. Our aim is to help the next generation to take a vital step from talented student to fully fledged professional by providing a suitable instrument, which is often well beyond the young musician¹s reach.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am privileged to be a beneficiary of the Cherubim Trust, having been awarded a long-term loan of the 'Rothermere-Gosling' Moosmann Bassoon. The announcement is here : http://cherubimtrust.org/new-bassoon-awardee/

Quality instruments such as these are not mass-produced and command huge prices that parents and children often just can't afford to purchase. Whilst other loan instruments can be available, it is important that talented musicians have access to quality instruments as poorer instruments will often hold talented players back from achieving their full potential. I have personally gone from zero - Grade 8 in 18 months and outgrown two instruments in that time.

The Cherubim Trust has enabled me to access a quality instrument that I couldn't hope to purchase or borrow from anywhere else and facilitate my musical progression.

Whilst I will return the bassoon after lots of use, it will have many years of life left within it for others to follow me, but I want to do more .. I want to encourage others to donate in order to increase the number of instruments supplied to others by the Cherubim Trust..
