Myeloma UK is the only organisation in the UK dealing exclusively with myeloma. We provide information and support to patients and their families and help myeloma patients live longer, with a better quality of life by accelerating the discovery, development of and access to new treatments.

Story

In May of this year Phil, Charlie, Brian, Aaron, Colin and myself are going on a road trip from Shotts to Morocco in a 22 year old Mercedes 814 Vario which has been converted into a 6 berth Motorhome.

We intend to use this challenging journey totalling 4000 miles round trip as a charity event to raise money for Myeloma Cancer Research.

Phil was diagnosed with Myeloma Cancer in 2021. He has underwent intensive treatment where he had to isolate completely from family and friends for many months.

The treatment has been a success and he is now in remission. We had planned this trip when Phil was undergoing treatment to raise money and awareness for Myeloma Cancer. We are now looking forward to making this trip a reality as he is now out of isolation.

I am sure there will be a few laughs on this mammoth journey, where there will be some well-deserved oiling and watering stations for both vehicle and its crew.

Please follow us on this memorable journey and be part of the experience en route to Morocco. We will keep you posted with photos and videos along the way.

The work and effort of Myeloma Cancer Research means a great deal to all involved in the trip and any donations no matter how small would be greatly appreciated.
