Story
As a part of our journey through Latin America we decided to volunteer in Peru to help after the recent floods and mudslides that happened two months ago. We joined All Hands Volunteers in a city called Huarmey.
Two months ago Peru had 10 times the usual rain in the period. More than 100 people have died, nearly 158,000 are displaced and 210,000 homes are damaged.
Our project is helping to clean schools, community centers and houses of people that still struggle with huge amounts of mud in their homes.
All Hands currently has around 50 people here working from 7 am to 5 pm clearing mud 6 days a week.
We arrived 2 days ago and we can already see what difference this project is making. That is why we decided to set up a funding page and we really appreciate any donations.
We will stay for 3 weeks - till 11th of June so we will keep fundraising throughout our stay.
