Story

It's now almost 2 weeks ago and Paula Radcliffe won for the UK... I hadn't run a marathon for 10 years...and it took me rather longer, but the sun shone and that eased the pain!

I know there are still people out there who've promised sponsorship but not filled the form yet. I'm now up to over £8k and if I can raise £10k that will change at least 4 people's lives by giving them loads of special computer equipment so that even if they can't get out and about they can shop, email, learn, stay in touch etc etc..Just imagine being in an accident, waking up paralysed and not being able to speak, and you begin to get some idea of the massive difference it makes to be able to control the electronic whizzardry (which many of us take for granted) to communicate and get out and about in a virtual world.

The support I've had so far has been brilliant. Thank you all. But it's not too late....support a small charity with no large PR or events departments but a very good cause. There are 5 million people in the UK who need help to be able to use a computer and AbilityNet is the only specialist charity working across all disabilities to make sure they can.

Big thanks - my foot's almost stopped aching and raising the money has made it all worthwhile. Shuna
