I was diagnosed with Axial Spondylitis on my 40th birthday! AS is a form of arthritis which affects the joints in the spine down to the pelvis (Happy Birthday to me 😳). Actually it was a blessing. Having suffered with severe joint pain through my 30s I now take weekly injections to keep my condition (relatively) under control and this allows me to exercise every day, something that wasn’t possible for the previous 10 years! So I took up running and now I am running the London Marathon 😳 to raise money for Versus Arthritis and to maybe raise awareness for anybody who is unknowingly living in agony with the condition (like i was!).
