Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
The Children's Heart Surgery Fund provides support for children and adults born with congenital heart disease and their families. Around 400 children from Yorkshire, Humberside and North Lincolnshire need open-heart surgery every year and 10,000 children pass through the Leeds Congenital Heart Unit each year.
The Children's Heart Surgery Fund works alongside the Leeds Congenital Heart Unit, Leeds General Infirmary to fund ground-breaking new equipment, resources, training and research, as well as offering support for children and their families.
CHSF have already pledged £1.25 million towards a revolutionary children's heart theatre. The children's heart theatre is one of its kind and bespoke to the Leeds Congenital Heart Unit. The theatre will be used for treating babies and children with congenital heart disease, however, Sian and Esther (aka Peak Power Pedallers) need your help to ensure it happens.
Sian & Esther will ride from London to Edinburgh and back in just five days, Sun 30 July - Fri 4th August. LEL is one of Britain's greatest cycling challenges taking place every four years. The route passes through an incredible range of scenery, from tough climbs in the Pennines and Scottish Lowlands, to the fens of Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire. Along the route there are control points where we will be able to get hot food, and a mattress to sleep on! The LEL 2017 route is 1433km long and has 11,128 metres of climbing. The organisers will post the times we arrive at the controls on the LEL website so friends and family will be able to track us (L30 and L24).
Our Misson is to keep pedalling and to raise funds for the Children's Heart Surgery Fund.
