Story
On Sunday 18th July 2021 myself and a group of fabulous ladies are taking on the challenge of cycling the monstrosity of a volcano that is known as Haleakala which is in Hawaii.
We will be doing this virtually from our Peloton bikes. The challenge is set to take 5 hours of solid climbing 76 miles and ascending a huge 3,055m (10,022 feet) climb. The equivalent of cycling the 3Peaks in one go!
And you ask why?
The answer will always be Leo. As many of you know Leo lost his fight in June 2018 at 10 months old. I spent those 10 months at Ronald McDonald House near St Thomas Hospital where Leo was being treated. They treated us like family and because of this we now sponsor a room at the house in Leo’s memory so other families like us can have somewhere to stay knowing they are close to their child in hospital.
We would love to raise as much as we possibly can to keep this amazing room going but also to keep my little boys memory alive. It never gets easier being without him but what I know I can do is to help others in a similar situation.
If anyone reading this does have a Peloton bike and fancies jumping on for a leg or two please come give us a high five 🙌😉
