Erme Valley RDA aims to improve the lives of people with disabilities by providing opportunities for riding and therapy. The group ride 70 riders a week and is run by a committee of volunteers/helpers. The yearly running costs of the group are GBP 25,000. All funds come from fundraising events.

Story

Most of you will know that I've been involved with Erme valley riding for the disabled since it started (albeit I was too young to be much help then) and am passionate about doing what I can to help keep our amazing group going. I've managed to get 3 months unpaid leave from work to cycle the East coast of Australia to raise much needed funds. My last scary fundraiser for RDA was North Africas biggest mountain, Mount Toubkal, about 9 years ago so thought it was time I did another. I'll be starting in Melbourne at the end of October and heading up the coast approx 2000km to Surfers Paradise - on my own, unsupported, with a couple of pannier bags, a tent, and a few flapjacks! All donations on here will go directly to Erme Valley RDA. I'm intending to visit some riding for the disabled groups along the way but if any of you have contacts between Melbourne and Brisbane, let me know! Thank you for your continued support for this fab charity. Look forward to seeing you all on my return in mid January for a celebratory drink or two (I hope) in The Anchor!  Vets 4 Pets, Asher Marks - wills & wealth protection, and The Anchor Inn at Ugborough have kindly sponsored some of my kit - helmet, pannier bags, rack and tops but I am funding everything else myself. I will buy a bike in Melbourne and sell it at the end (hopefully)  🚴‍♀️🇦🇺
