Cancer is a terrible disease which hits so many people indiscriminately at all ages. I have known friends and family members who have been afflicted. Some are still with us but not all. They have all benefited from the dedication and care provided by specialized hospitals and departments like Velindre. When I heard about Rhod Gilbert's fight against Head and Neck cancer and his aim to help raise money for the Velindre Cancer Centre in Cardiff I was moved to join in. I have never done anything as daunting as this before but I am determined to see it through with the help & support of friends, family and my wider community.

The fundraising is going to be a challenge in itself. I will have to get inventive. All donations gratefully received.
