I don't know if you are aware of Dorothy Goodman School we cater for pupils aged between 3 and 19 years with a wide range of learning disabilities, Autism to Cerebral Palsy, Down’s syndrome to ADHD and everything in-between. The school has five sites in Hinckley, Leicestershire.

As part of our ongoing fundraising efforts we are holding a dinner and auction called #Signedit4SEN at Leicester City’s ground, The King Power Stadium, Leicester on May 2^nd 2015. The evening is dedicated to raising funds to put towards vital communication equipment for our pupils with special needs.

Children with special needs often have difficulties with communication or learning due to illness, injury or a disorder or syndrome. Some children have learning difficulties even though they have an undiagnosed condition. However, no matter what the level of communication difficulty, it is likely that there are ways to facilitate children’s’ learning and improve their communication. Even children with profound difficulties have the potential to increase their level of communication, allowing them to initiate, respond and make choices. We have witnessed the huge impacts equipment such as IPads, Androids and other tablets have as communication aids for our pupils and we would like to be in a position to offer every pupil the benefit of a communication aid.

Join us and our special guests on May 2nd 2015. Tickets are £35 each, including entry, a three course meal, live and silent auctions and excellent entertainment.
