Story

Update 321/03/10

Our last day at Who Will came and went. It was a tearful farewell that will stay with us forever- as will every single day spent with the children!!!

An enormous thank you to David and his congregation who raised an amazing 300 pounds for us- a couple they've never met and for an organisation they've probably never heard of! We are forever grateful!!!

The last weeks before we left we handed over the English and phonics teaching to Sipheng (the local teacher) and Chris organised first aid training for the carers and management at Who Will. The sports field is being put to good use- especially last week when we received a welcome visit from the Cambodian national football-team coach!!! The school building is still being built- and so is the area around the new pond. There is still much work to do on the site so we will continue our fundraising!

Hope you enjoy the new pictures!

Thank you!

Update 28/02/2010

Lots of thanks to Kim and Joely for their huuuuuge efforts at fundraising for Who Will! Thank you to Louise, Alix, Tina, Brian, Penny, Len and Daisy for your generous donations!!! We are nearly half-way towards our target- yippee!!!!!! As you can see from the photos, the pitch is nearly done, we've already trialed it playing rounders!

We have only three weeks left at Who Will and are currently trying to hand over the English teaching to the staff at the orphanage. A few challenges have come our way, but considering the importance of English to their futures, we hope we will be able to leave behind a decent structure within which the children can continue to learn and have fun!

I will add some pictures of the children in their new fotball kits soon!

Thanks and thanks and thanks again!!!

Update 29/01/10!

Thanks David, Alan, Linda, tante, Linda, mamma and Trond and Kim!!!!!!! (We received a 70 fotball kit-donation from my aunt in Norway, so fotball kits no longer needed- thanks!)

The kids are learning and enjoying themselves with the resources already bought with your money! Snakes and ladders (Stigespillet), Checkers and  Ludo has gone down a treat!!!

We have decided to fund a fotball pitch at the orphanage and for that we need more money of course! The kids are currently playing on gravel ground which is full of rocks, sticks, sharp and dodgy bits and pieces. They need a proper ground where they can safely play fotball, volleyball (which seems to be the favourite at the moment), rounders and circle games.

The digging has already started, we'll put some more pictures up so you can see how it's progressing. So start digging deep yourselves!!! The kids will get so much pleasure out of it!

Thank you for your help, guys, we REALLY appreciate it!!!
