Story

Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.

As someone who is now seeing more and more the damage and pain caused by Alzheimer's, not just to the sufferer but also to family members and carers, the work this amazing charity does has become a cause close to my heart and one that affects me and my family on a personal level.

So little is still known about the causes and triggers, let alone possible cures of successful treatments that every penny raised really does make a huge difference. Alzheimer's is growing and will come to affect more and more of us, directly or indirectly, as we get older.

As I get older, running becomes harder but the desire to make a difference and to travel the lengths needed to do so remains as strong as ever.
