Trekking to Everest base camp has long been on my bucket list and until now eluded me due to time, cost and nerve to sign on the dotted line. I've read about it, watched films about it and dreamt of making this challenge a reality. 

My work colleague Alan, for 25 years, and I discussed this many times and agreed that if one of us did it, the other would join them. Alan contracted MND in November 2017 and is now totally paralysed and in need of 24/7 care. A cruel 12 months took him from a fit and healthy man to where he is now, we are all devastated and want to do all we can to raise money to make things more comfortable for Alan and other sufferers of this Mean Nasty Disease.

In addition to the base camp trek my training will include running more marathons and ultra marathons, competing in half and full iron man triathlons and cycling on 100+ miles trips to coastal resorts to claim sticks of rock for worthy donations!!!
