The Raid Pyrenean route crosses the Pyrenees from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean and was established in 1950. The route keeps as close to the Spanish border as possible on surfaced roads. Not surprisingly this means that most of the big cols comprise the route including the legendary Col du Tourmalet, nicknamed The Assassin. If this is not hard enough the organizers of the Raid introduced the rule that the route had to be completed within 100 hours!

That’s the challenge in a nutshell.

The Amazon Breast Cancer Support Group was founded by twelve Kings Mill Breast Cancer patients who felt help was needed for patients that went beyond the pure medical care given by the hospital. One of those twelve was my mother who is still very much involved to this day so this charity is very close to home. Now it is a thriving charity which undertakes fantastic support work so please help me raise a few pounds towards it.
