Simon 's Goal for 2022 run the Brighton marathon.

Brighton Marathon 2022 · 10 April 2022 ·
I'm fundraising for Epilepsy Action to support other people with epilepsy for them to continue to get the support they need. The same support that I have received over the years.
I have had tonic-clonic seizures, from the age of 7, along with complex partial seizures, absences seizures and high risk of sudep (sudden death epilepsy)
In September 2017 I had intercranial surgery, which involved nine probes being inserted into my brain, which then recorded any epileptic activity. They recorded 43 seizures in 2 and ½ days.
I then found the support of Epilepsy action. Each month I attend one of the support groups this has helped with my mental wellbeing.
On the 2nd July 2018 I underwent right temporal lobe reduction. Recovery from surgery was much harder and slower than I had expected. Inside I felt lost and in pain, my head was killing me, I could'nt sleep, and my memory was terrible. But no one wants to keep hearing your story and you feel alone. I reached my lowest point in February 2019 and I felt that I could not go on, but with support from my family, Dr Ericsson (neurologist) and GP and being involved in epilepsy action and speaking to others with the condition it meant I got the help I needed.
Surgery has reduced my seizures but has not got rid of them completely. I do still have complex partial seizure, absence seizures, but my last tonic-clonic seizure was 2 months ago. My symptoms have reduced slightly with some medication changes but I do lead a full life, I go to work, I’m able to football coach, and try to be as independent as I can, with certain support.
I have an amazing wife called Jo and a brilliant daughter called Evie, 3 great stepchildren Dean, Darryl, and Ashleigh, who supported me. Also support from my mum & dad, brother and sister.
2022 I will be running the the Brighton Mathon, If you can donate anything at all, it would mean alot to me and the charity.
Thankyou
