Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Matthew Langdon and Peter Machin were two of the nicest men you could wish to meet and were both taken from their family and friends far too early. Matt had a passion for Surfing, Peter's passion was Stoke City FC, and they both enjoyed a game of skittles!

Myself and Kevin Porter are running the Bristol Half Marathon in memory of two very close friends that we have lost to Cancer. Life can be cruel and the unexpected can happen at any time. Kevin and I are both in our 40's, and as neither of us have ever been runners, we decided that this would be a good challenge for us.

We are running this event in memory and spirit of both Matt and Pete and to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. We want to highlight the amazing work that Macmillan does and to raise as much money as possible so that people like us can continue to receive the support they offer. People may not be aware of quite how much Macmillan do and how essential they are to people whose lives are touched by cancer. From being at the end of the phone, answering questions and being a calming voice for those in need of their help.

We want to contribute to Macmillan Cancer Support to help them continue their wonderful work in support of those suffering from cancer and their family and friends.  They fulfil a vital role in ensuring that when cancer strikes there will always be someone out there who knows how you feel, is able to help you feel that you are not alone and to provide advice and support at such a traumatic time.

We can't wait to cross that finish line and know that we will be helping people just like us whose lives are affected by cancer.

You can make a donation by text if its easier -
