Astronomer Simon was a close childhood friend. Last year he died very suddenly at the age of 48 from a heart attack, leaving his wife and two young children (both under 12). On top of the loss of Simon, his wife is also battling breast cancer. The folks at WAY (Widowed and Young) have been supporting the family through this very difficult time.

While our fundraiser is intended to honour Simon's memory, its primary aim is to raise money for a very worthy cause who continue to support his family. Anything you can give will be gratefully received.

Four of us will be riding from Simon's favourite beach in Cornwall (Pendower), where his ashes are scattered, to his old home in Frome. It will be a gruelling ride with over 4,000m of climb!

We will be setting out on the 13th of April from the shores of Cornwall, arriving in Frome on the 16th April, Easter Saturday.

The ride is entirely self-funded so all donations will go to the charity.
