Simon's Hair grow-a-thon - and now LONDON MARATHON!

Simon Frampton is raising money for Little Princess Trust

Hair grow-a-thon · 8 June 2021

The Little Princess Trust provides real hair wigs, free of charge, to children and young people who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or to other conditions. The charity is also one of the largest funders of childhood cancer research in the UK.

Story

So this started as a joke at home with Hannah saying she always wished my hair was longer, one such conversation in August 2020 post a number 2 all over I jokingly said ‘fine, I won’t cut it again then!’

Anyways as it started to grow and she realised I clearly was stubborn enough to do it, I figured I might as well do something useful with it, and after a short google this charity came up, and I just couldn’t think of anything I’d rather to do.

The minimum length they will accept is seven inches, so I’ll go as much over that as I can stand (the longer the better apparently, you can make your own jokes there!).

I have also now had confirmation from the trust that I have a place in the London Marathon this year on Sunday October 3rd (the Marathon is being split to half in London, half virtual runners, I will be in the virtual bit so will probably be running around Nottinghamshire somewhere), and yes I will run the race with some form of platted hair / pigtails if that helps raise a few extra ££'s for the charity :-)

Didn’t intend to do this for money initially but if me looking like more of a fool can also raise some money for them as well as the hair then all the better 👍

When a child loses their hair to cancer or another condition, we'll be there with a free, real hair wig to help restore their confidence and identity. We won't stop until the research that we fund ends childhood cancer forever. Promise. Please visit us at www.littleprincesses.org.uk to find out how you can help us give young people back what cancer takes away. The Trust relies solely on the efforts of enthusiastic community fundraisers. We receive no formal funding. Please help to raise money for us so that we can help more families.
