Story
This year I will be mostly……………………………………running marathons.
Not just one or two…….or three or four but FIVE marathons.
Yep FIVE marathons in just six weeks. Am I mad?
Starting in Northampton on 31st March then heading down to Brighton on 14th April. It’s then the big London Marathon 21st April then up to Manchester (28th) finally ending with Milton Keynes on 6th May – Phew!
This is a big and personal challenge that I’ve set myself. I’m also supporting my local hospice, The Hospice of St Francis in Berkhamsted and all the money raised will go towards the care they give to local patients and their families when time is most precious.
Training has been going well so far, I even managed to run 18 miles through snow, rain, sleet and ice! It helps that I’ve found a few other mad runners who keep me company on the long runs.
I’ve chosen to support my local hospice as they are an amazing Charity who have been caring for people with cancer and other serious illnesses in Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire since 1979.
Their services include:
·Inpatient Unit providing specialist 24-hour service
·Homecare Team offering palliative care in the community
·Family Support service offers a range of therapies including bereavement support for adults and children.
·An award winning Education and Training service providing and promoting excellent palliative care across our region in partnership with other healthcare professionals.
Please help support me in this grueling challenge by digging deep and sponsoring me. Even if you only have a few quid…………it all adds up.
Thanks very much and I’ll keep you posted on my progress J
