Story
In loving memory of Diana Brown, the wind beneath our wings.
Dear Friends and Colleagues, with your support I am intending to complete the 37th Marathon des Sables. Known as the toughest foot race on earth it is a six-day, 251 km multi-day ultramarathon held in the Sahara Desert from 23rd April, 2023.
I will be doing so in memory of my dear mum in law, Di Brown, for the Brain Tumour Charity, a UK-based, charity dedicated to funding research, raising awareness of brain tumours, reducing diagnosis times and providing support and information for people with brain tumours, their families and friends.
Thank you for your donation of support and your message of encouragement, which will see me prepare for and complete this physical and mental challenge for a cause close to our hearts.
Simon

Footnote: At least 88,000 children and adults are estimated to be living with a brain tumour in the UK. The impact can be devastating. Just 12% of adults survive for five years after diagnosis and brain tumours reduce life expectancy by an average of 27 years – the highest of any cancer. Despite this, treatments haven’t changed in 40 years and research into brain tumours is still woefully underfunded. In fact, just 3% of the money spent each year on cancer research in the UK is spent on brain tumours.
