Shine provides specialist support from before birth and throughout the life of anyone living with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus, as well as to parents, families, carers and professional care staff. Our wonderful supporters make our work possible, your fundraising makes all the difference!

Story

Our daughter Rachel had hydrocephalus diagnosed at 14 months of age and needed to be fitted with a shunt. SHINE gave us a lot of support at the time as Rachel unfortunately had to have several surgeries until she stabilised. She has thankfully not needed to have further surgeries since then but we have continued to receive support from SHINE over the years when she has been unwell. We are therefore delighted to be able to give something back to the charity, to help others.

SHINE provides specialist support from before birth and throughout the life of anyone living with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus, as well as to parents, families, carers and professional care staff. They enable people to get the best out of life, and everything they do is made possible by generous supporters.

Each donation however big or small has the potential for profound impact.

A huge thank you to everybody who has supported me with the gruelling training (special shout to my running buddy Jeremy Asher and our good friend come informal coach Adam Kinsley)

Thanks for all those generous donations - they add up to a large sum 🙏

I would like to send a special thanks to the kind donations from our NHS patients @ Bridgewater Surgeries Watford and also to any anonymous donors - you know who you are ❤️

THANK YOU for supporting SHINE !
