Great North Run 2021 · 12 September 2021 ·

We are dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for young cancer patients aged 13-24. We fund and build specialist units in NHS hospitals and provide dedicated staff, bringing young people together so they can be treated by teenage cancer experts in the best place for them.

Story

Jonny was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia in August 2018 and spent quite a lot of the next two years on "J94", a teen and young adult cancer ward in St James Hospital in Leeds. The nursing staff and others were fabulous as were the charity Teenage Cancer Trust. They made a real difference to Jonny's time in hospital.

A year after he died his dad Simon, brother Josh and step-sister Sophie are teaming up to do the Great North Run this September (21km!!). They want to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust to say thank you for all they did for Jonny and help them to help the next patient who comes through the doors of a cancer ward. It would be great if you could support us but don't worry if you can't.

Simon has run a half-marathon twice before but feels too old to be running this far, Josh has done the distance just once and this is a first for Sophie.
