Marathon Number 3  - Manchester 2021

After the passing of my Gran and Uncle In the last 12months I wanted to use the opportunity of running Manchester Marathon to raise money and awareness while also remembering both family members.

I have my own targets for Manchester Marathon (sub 4 hr) with one of the main motivations for running this race being the  memory of Gran (Iris) and Uncle David, loved family members who wont be forgotten.

The charities I'm raising money for are 

Alzheimers Society - Who campaign for change, fund research to find a cure and support people living with dementia today.

TreeTops Hospice - who provided such wonderful care to Uncle David during his illness.

Alzheimers Society

Every three minutes, somebody in the UK is told they have dementia. But dementia won’t win. Alzheimer’s Society is doing everything they can to find a cure, but they need our help. Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever. Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.

Treetops Hospice

Treetops Hospice provides nursing
care and emotional support for anyone affected by a life-limiting illness or
bereavement in Derby, Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.

Treetops supports people with
illnesses such as cancer, motor neurone disease and multiple sclerosis. It also
supports their carers and families. All services are provided free of charge.
Treetops is a registered charity, which costs £4.3 million each year to run.
