The Margo Young Foundation
On 13th January 2014 Alan Young established The Margo Young Foundation in memory of his mother who sadly lost her life to breast cancer on 13th February 1992. The aim of The Margo Young Foundation is to support terminally ill patients and their families. The initial focus of the charity will be on funding respite support and bereavement services. To ensure sustainability The Margo Young Foundation collaborates with established organisations. The Margo Young Foundation is currently collaborating with Marie Curie Hospice (Glasgow) and Strathcarron Hospice, Denny to support children and young people facing loss or bereavement and those already experiencing loss or bereavement. In response to the ever changing NHS landscape the efforts of The Margo Young Foundation have extended beyond those directly/indirectly affected by a malignant illness to those directly/indirectly affected by a range of life terminal illnesses. The charity has been approved by the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR) as a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO). Charity Number is SC044578.
