Story
I am running 7 gruelling coastal trail marathons in 7 months on behalf of Down Syndrome International (DSI). So far I have completed five out of the seven with the latest being held in Pembrokeshire, . The next marathon is in Cornwall at the end of April which is regarded by many to be the most challenging course as the terrain is monstrous, rock and very boggy.
These trail runs are a serious test unlike any other I have faced before and I know there are some tough courses to come before finishing in May however I'm looking forward to the challenge at the same time. The wild and hilly terrain is a much tougher challenge than road racing which might explain the slower times! I hope this challenge will raise considerable funds for my chosen charity DSi.
I have 2 good friends in the UK who have a brother and a sister with Down syndrome and am happy to lend my support to the DSi cause. I have run for the UK DSA previously and a friend made me aware of the good work DSi were doing to help improve the lives of people with Down syndrome Worldwide. I am delighted to help out in any way I can and hopefully I can complete the series, raise some money and also help raise the profile of DSi.
