Story

In September 2022 Laura and I were delighted when after many years of trying we found out she was pregnant with our second child. Sadly in November just before our first scan our dreams were shattered when we lost our baby.

Although we haven't yet sought out any formal help, the miscarriage association website was a constant source of information, comfort and reassurance that what we were feeling was normal and we were not alone.

I wanted to do something not only to raise money for a good cause but also to help with my own focus which has been lacking in recent months and I have found running a good way to do that. It is for this reason in april I have decided to run the London landmarks half marathon for the Miscarriage Association in memory of Taylor Moseley.

Long before any of this happened I 'ran' (mainly shuffled) a half marathon and swore never again, this seemed like a good reason to give it another try. It is going to be a challenge because I haven't really done much running since but if anything is likely to drag me out of the house on a miserable winter evening for a long training run then Taylor and the Miscarriage Association will be it.

The Miscarriage Association is a national charity that offers support and information to anyone who is affected by miscarriage or ectopic or molar pregnancy. They work with health professionals to encourage good care; with workplaces to promote compassionate policies and with the media to raise public awareness of the facts and feelings of pregnancy loss. Our team of amazing runners help with all of this and more. Their fundraising helps pay for our staffed helpline and the production of high-quality information online and in print. And every time they mention the M.A. they raise awareness of how they can help.Thank you for your support.
