At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Hello! Thanks for taking the time to visit my page. As you may or may not have been aware, in a little under 5 week's time I will be running 26.2 miles around the streets of Paris with 3 friends and 39,996 other people.

Training has been long and arduous, the picture you see is when I JUST finished a 20 mile run on Dartmoor on 5th March. So only 6.2 more to go!

I have been encouraged by many people to set up a Justgiving page and to raise some money and it will in all likelihood be the extra motivation that I need when both my mind and legs are wandering aimlessly at the 23 mile mark. I have decided to raise money for the Alzheimer's Society as this is a charity which is close to my heart and which does lots of good work supporting people with the disease and their families and researching future prevention. Having raised money for them in the past I know that they are very grateful for all funds that are received. I have set a fairly ambitious target but am sure that it is achievable with your generosity.

As I sit writing this, two days after that 20 mile run I can assure you that the thought of going any further is not particularly palatable right now but I am equally determined to conquer the streets of Paris and I thank you very much in advance for your support!
