After many years of unsuccessful attempts to gain a ballot place in the London Marathon, this year my luck changed and I'm in! 

Without the pressure of a large target £ amount to raise for charity, I am grateful for any donations I receive - thank you - and am happy to pass them on to the Minehead Community Defib Group, a local charity that operates with a small group of volunteers who raise funds to place life saving public access defibrillators in and around Minehead. They also raise funds that enable them to offer free training workshops on Basic Life Support Skills and how to use a public access defibrillator.

The training for London has been tough. It hasn't necessarily gone to plan as there have been injuries and illness along the way, but I expect to be on the start line come Sunday 23rd April and from there I intend to finish around 4½ hours later. Wish me luck!
